Reliance Wired Broadband Subscribers

You are reading this first here in Global MediaReliance WiMax maybe a bundle of hurdles in-line with other WiMax service providers in India. However, Reliance’s Wired Broadband has now connected 787,567 buildings [Apartments and offices in Central Business Districts] across 42 Cities in India. The real broadband subscribers count could be much higher.

We have obtained the No of Buildings Wired by Reliance Broadband High Speed Internet at the end of each quarter.

March-07: 488,661
June-07: 593,805
Sept-07: 666,368
Dec-07: 727,229
Mar-08: 787,567

However, the average revenue per broadband line has decreased from Rs 1,932 to Rs 1,760.

Bharti Airtel had 794,400 broadband subscribers at the end of March-08. The ARPU is at Rs 1,137. Bharti Airtel has been able to maintain the ARPUs, because they upgrade the available broadband speed to the customer and also try to increase the rates modestly. Even if 25% of the customers like me upgrade ourselves, they are able to maintain the bottom line.

Just, FYI, I started with 128 Kbps in Apr-06 at Rs 699 for unlimited data transfer. Today I am on 1 Mbps unlimited data transfer for Rs 2,222. Dramatic increase in broadband speed in the past 2 years 🙂

  2. Some times back i requested for a broadband connection with airtel. The executive took the money and said this will happen within 3 days. After two weeks i called the person to know the status as i haven’t got any call regarding this. After two weeks the guys from airtel said this is not possible. And they will refund the money after 15 days. That was pathetic. The executive said “This is a big company, we have rules and regulations. So you will get your money only after 15 days”.

If this is big company then why cant they can provide me the connection? I am residing within bangalore not outside of bangalore.

Request: Before planing for the airtel please check the details and then pay the money.

    Roger

  3. I asked (for my company)wired Broadband connection from past 1 week, there is no response from Reliance.

Why reliance is posting useless people? Are they really don’t want business or the people who is working for reliance is not working properly?

The person who took the responsibility belongs to reliance means it’s companies mistake.
